A useful error often appears on the wrong screen. You want the stack trace on your phone for a conversation or a quick lookup, but sending it through email or a synced note adds friction—and may copy sensitive context to another service.
A smaller path for small output
For compact text such as a build failure, a command result, or selected log lines, PixeDrop can turn the text into animated QR frames. Scan the screen with the iPhone app and the text is reconstructed locally.
- Select only the lines you actually need.
- Paste them into the PixeDrop web sender.
- Scan the animated code with the iPhone app.
- Copy or share the received text from the phone.
Reduce before you transfer
Logs can contain hostnames, paths, tokens, email addresses, customer identifiers, or environment values. Review the selection first and redact secrets. A direct transfer avoids an intermediary, but it does not make unsafe content harmless after it reaches the phone.
Prefer focused output such as the failing stack trace or the last relevant lines, not an entire log archive. That is faster to scan and easier to inspect.
Useful cases
- Moving terminal output from an offline or restricted machine.
- Carrying a short diagnostic snippet to a support conversation.
- Transferring a small configuration sample without creating a cloud note.
For large logs, collaborative incident systems are the better tool. PixeDrop is intentionally optimized for the small, immediate handoff.
